your future self will thank you for”
What brings you to therapy?
Perhaps you are an Adult or a Young Person feeling overwhelmed by your current situation at school or college or work. Maybe you feel isolated and don’t know where to turn. Perhaps you feel there is a lack of meaning in your life.
People of all ages often come to therapy due to crisis in their lives, they want help to reduce the emotional pain they are in, and to find answers to longstanding problems. It is a brave step to seek out therapy, as mental health is not the absence of problems, but being able to deal with the problems that all of us inevitably face in our lives.

What is counselling and psychotherapy?

It can be difficult to turn to friends, parents, or partners during times of crisis. You may not want to burden them, you may want to protect them, or fear being judged by them.
Psychotherapy can offer you a safe non-judgmental space to explore thoughts and feelings you may find difficult to admit even to yourself.
I work with young people and adults, as a companion in their darkness, to help them gain new perspectives on their problems. This usually involves exploring issues in depth and how these impact on different areas of life.
People make choices that are protective when they are going through difficulties or crisis. These solutions can often become problems in themselves in the long term, when old solutions are outgrown. I aim to help you see if your ways of coping are still helpful now. Facing the ghosts of the past can enable you to be more fully present in the moment and truly become the author of your life.
I hope we can work together and look forward to hearing from you.
