Young People’s Therapy Online

I have worked extensively with children and young people, and specialise in working with young people from 10 yrs old upwards. Often young people have an awful lot to deal with, this may include issues at school like bullying or discrimination, feeling lonely and isolated, or struggling with schoolwork, or exams.
It could also include wider issues in the family, like parents divorcing or getting ill, separation from family, moving home or school, losing a close friend or relative or pet, to name a few issues.
These issues can impact on your daily life, and may lead to constantly feeling down, angry, wanting to withdraw from friends and family, or even feeling despairing about your life.
It can help to talk to someone outside your family like a therapist, who lets you lead the conversation and who provides space for you to explore the complex web of issues that have led you to feeling trapped in your situation.
I will work with you to understand what led to this situation, triggers that keep you feeling trapped or paralysed in your life and support you through this difficult period. In my experience, even young people who have really difficult problems can use therapy to turn their lives around and begin to feel hopeful again.
Issues I can help with include:
Initial sessions (assessment)
I usually meet with the family for three consecutive sessions (assessment). Following this I usually work with the young person on their own, except for mutually agreed planned reviews with parents. All sessions are confidential, apart from in exceptional circumstances agreed with the client at the beginning of therapy.
